Osun Election: Accord Party, APC Guber Candidates Make Final Push for Votes in Saturday Election
Final beat to win the hearts of Osun State citizen for the State Governorship election reaches it’s peaks as popular media personality and prominent Accord Party chieftain, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, on Thursday evening, led a powerful delegation of party leaders into Osun State to declare unwavering solidarity for the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, who is seeking re-election under the Accord Party banner.
Speaking to crowds of Accord party supporters, Hamzat put to rest long-standing political speculations regarding his allegiance, firmly aligning his structure with the governor. “I stand in one Accord with His Excellency, Ademola Adeleke, and I believe in his people-focused administration,” Hamzat stated.
He urged the electorate to reward Governor Adeleke’s first-term achievements with a definitive victory at the polls on Saturday.
The influx of the Hamzat-led Accord team has effectively re-energized Adeleke’s grassroots base, particularly among digital media groups and local influencers who promised their support in defending the Adeleke’s seat.
In the same vein, the All Progressives Congress (APC) also unleashed its full national political machinery on Osun State as several APC governors and top stakeholders arrived in Osogbo earlier for a massive mega rally held today to campaign for their flagbearer, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (popularly known as AMBO).
High-ranking progressive leaders, including the Secretary of the APC National Campaign Council, Senator Barau Jibrin, and National Secretary Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, addressed a mammoth crowd at the party’s grand finale rally.
The party chieftains charged residents to vote out the current administration of Ademola Adeleke and align Osun State back with the federal “Renewed Hope” agenda.
“By God’s grace and with the continued support of the people of Osun, AMBO will emerge victorious on Saturday,” Jibrin declared, pointing out that Oyebamiji’s track record as a seasoned financial expert makes him the ideal choice to spearhead development.
With over 2.3 million registered voters expected to cast their ballots across the state’s 30 local government areas, the political atmosphere remains highly charged. Security agencies have heavily deployed personnel across the state to maintain order, following recent security scares and clashes between opposing factions.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has warned all political parties against intimidation, vote-buying, and inflammatory statements as the final countdown to Saturday begins.
