“My withdrawal from the gubernatorial race was not born out of fear or defeat, but out of wisdom and choice. No warrior goes into battle on a territory completely controlled by another. Leadership demands strategy, patience, and timing.
But in life, when Plan A does not succeed, we move to Plans B and C with even greater determination. My commitment remains unchanged: to ensure that the people of Rivers State experience true governance free from the heavy chains of godfatherism and political intimidation.
The people of Rivers State have witnessed my sacrifices, my endurance through hostility, and my sincere efforts to maintain peace, balance, and inclusive leadership in our diverse state. They know the struggle has always been about freeing our people from the politics of oppression and ‘man-know-man.’
As I move forward, I will align myself with a platform that believes in equity, justice, and national transformation, a platform that has zoned its presidential ticket to the South. There, I will join hands with my brother, Peter Obi, and millions of committed Nigerians in the collective mission to rescue and rebuild our nation through one of the most organized political movements in the country.
I believe the people of Rivers State are yearning for freedom, dignity, and accountable leadership. The frustrations caused by godfather control will now be transformed into renewed purpose and a greater call to duty for the future ahead.
