Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has revealed that despite his enormous wealth and global business influence, he does not own any property outside Nigeria.
The billionaire businessman made the disclosure during a media parley, explaining that whenever he travels abroad, he prefers staying in hotels rather than acquiring luxury mansions overseas.

According to Dangote, owning expensive properties outside the country would only serve as a distraction and create unnecessary financial commitments that do not align with his long-term vision for Nigeria.

He stated that his primary focus remains the industrialisation and economic growth of Nigeria, stressing that his investments and attention are concentrated on building industries capable of transforming the nation’s economy.

Dangote further disclosed that his only personal residences are located in Lagos and Kano. He also noted that even in Abuja, he does not own a house but instead lives in a rented apartment whenever he is in the Federal Capital Territory.

The revelation has sparked reactions across social media, with many Nigerians expressing admiration for what they described as a rare display of simplicity and discipline from one of the world’s wealthiest individuals.

Many observers noted that Dangote’s lifestyle contrasts sharply with that of several public figures and affluent individuals who invest heavily in luxury assets abroad despite having significantly less wealth.
