JUST IN: Prof. Yakubu, INEC Chairman Resigns, Agbamuche Takes Over as Acting Chairperson
The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu, has stepped outside the reins of the commission and handover to Mrs. May Agbamuche-Mbu as Acting National Chairman.
Yakubu made the announcement on Tuesday during an ongoing meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners at the INEC headquarters in Abuja.
Mrs. Agbamuche-Mbu, the oldest serving National Commissioner of the electoral body, will now oversee the commission’s affairs in acting capacity.
