Governor Okpebholo Opens Leadership Retreat at Udomi Townhall Outside Benin City

Governor Monday Okpebholo opened and addressed civil and public service leaders at a three-day orientation and strategic leadership retreat focused on strengthening performance, accountability, and teamwork across government.

The retreat marks a renewed approach to governance in Edo State, where performance will be closely monitored, collaboration across ministries and agencies will be strengthened, and excellence will define leadership under the SHINE Agenda. Public office is a call to service, and every policy and programme must deliver real value to Edo people.

For the first time, this kind of retreat is hosted outside Benin City in Udomi, at the newly built Townhall—the first of its kind in the region.

Bringing this kind of government events and programs directly to a rural community stimulates the local economy, drives development, and ensures Edo resources and jobs remain in Edo, benefiting people where they live.
