Gov. Okpebholo To Establish Edo Air

The Governor of Edo state, Sen Monday Okpebholo paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, in Abuja, where they discussed on the proposed Edo Air initiative.

According to the governor, Edo Air is a strategic step aimed at strengthening the state’s aviation ecosystem, boosting economic activities, enhancing tourism, and improving connectivity within Edo State and beyond. He said the initiative aligns with our broader vision of driving growth, attracting investment, and positioning Edo as a competitive destination for business and leisure.

In his response, the Honourable Minister recalled Benin City’s history as a major aviation hub during the era of the defunct Okada Air and welcomed our deliberate efforts to revive the sector. According to information made available on the Governor’s official handle, the Minister assured him of the Federal Government’s full support towards the actualisation of Edo Air.

The Governor added that this engagement reinforces the state’s collaboration with the Federal Government in the face of continued infrastructural development and economic transformation in Edo State.
