JAMB, in its Weekly Bulletin on Monday, stated that according to the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, public universities are expected to complete their admissions by October 31, 2025, while private universities must finalise theirs by November 30, 2025.
It added that all other tertiary institutions, including polytechnics and colleges of education, are required to conclude admissions by December 31, 2025.

Public universities are expected to complete post-UTME screening and submit recommended lists via CAPS by September 30, 2025, while private universities are expected to submit theirs by October 31, 2025, JAMB added.
Institutions that are not ready for immediate commencement of the academic session are required to conclude and archive their admission lists within the approved timeline, pending delayed matriculation.
JAMB emphasised the importance of adhering to these timelines to ensure a smooth transition into the new academic session.
It stated, “Attention all institutions and prospective students: The 2025 policy meeting, chaired by the Minister of Education, resolved that all Public Universities must complete 2025 admissions by 31 October 2025, while all Private Universities must finalise admissions by 30 November 2025. Furthermore, all other tertiary institutions, both public and private, must conclude admissions by 31 December 2025.
“Accordingly, all tertiary institutions are to keep within the timelines. Any university not ready for immediate commencement of the 2025/26 academic session should, within this approved timeline, conclude and archive the admission list pending the delayed matriculation.
“Consequently, all public universities are expected to complete all preliminaries, including post-UTME screening, and submit their recommended lists via CAPS not later than 30 September 2025 to allow for full scrutiny and timely processing.
Private universities are expected to submit theirs by 31st October 2025.”
