The Lagos State Government has deployed emergency responders and heavy rescue equipment to support ongoing rescue and recovery operations following the collapse of a three-storey building at Baale Road, Ajuwon, in Ogun State.

This is just as officials said three people have so far been confirmed dead.

The building, which collapsed on Monday after a downpour and thunderstorm, comprised two shops on the ground floor and residential apartments on the upper floors.

PUNCH Online had earlier reported that eyewitnesses and emergency responders said the incident occurred at about 2 p.m. on Monday.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the agency said the intervention followed a request for assistance from the Ogun State Government. Punch
