2027 Election: Court Deregistered ADC, Accord, AC, APP, ZLP political parties

As the 2027 general election draws near, serious problems is ahead of five political parties following their deregistration.

The deregistered political parties are African Democratic Congress , Accord , Action Alliance, Action Peoples Party and Zenith Labour Party.

This was the ruling of Federal High Court in Abuja today that the said political parties failed to meet the constitutional requirements of securing 25 per cent in the last general elections.

Justice Peter Lifu therefore ordered INEC to deregister the affected parties.

The ruling of the federal high court was as result of a group, the Incorporated Trustees of the National Forum of Former Legislators, filed the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/2638/2026 against the five political parties.

By this ruling, The Pond News understands that that the chances of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, former vice president and presidential candidate of ADC of participating in 2027 general election are getting dimmer.

Same with the governorship candidates and Assembly candidates of the ADC.

At the time of this report, the ADC has rejected the ruling as a threat to democracy and vowed to challenge it in a superior court.
